Welcome to Miltaburra Area School

Miltaburra Area School caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 12 and is somewhat unique in that it is not supported
by a township, but rather small rural and coastal communities, the closest being 23km to the east. Students travel to
school by bus. The school has well-designed and resourced buildings complemented by extensive grounds. Our motto,
'Working Together to Build Our Future', underscores our values of respect, cooperation and achievement.

The site improvement plan has had a strong emphasis on literacy, numeracy, thinking skills and wellbeing in recent times
and these are now being supported by current initiatives in accountability and continuous improvement. Staff and students
are strongly supported by the broader parent and community group as Miltaburra strives to build a culture of interdependence
and engagement. All students have 'hands-on' opportunities to engage in learning activities based on 'Caring for our Environment' and 'Sustainable Futures and Renewable Energy'. Students' learning is also supported by multiple computer suites, interactive whiteboards and access to video-conferencing facilities.
